Bringing the Right Drug to the Right Patient
Curidium is focused on identifying targeted medicines and companion diagnostics to treat patients more effectively. The Company aims to more accurately define patient subpopulations and to develop targeted drug therapies for these subgroups.
At the Forefront of the Growing Trend Towards Personalized Medicine
Curidium has used its proprietary technology, Homomatrix®, to identify the very first potential companion diagnostic of its kind for schizophrenia and bipolar affective disorder. The test, called PsychINDx™, may be used to sub-classify patients into four subgroups, which are characterized by distinct gene expression profiles.
Curidium believes this approach may ultimately lead to the development of drugs that could treat specific patient groups more effectively, placing Curidium at the forefront of personalized medicine in psychiatric disorders.
Developing New Drugs for Schizophrenia and Bipolar Disorder
Curidium has recently identified several potential drug development opportunities that it hopes to develop for use in specific patient subgroups with schizophrenia/bipolar disorder. These drug candidates have previously been tested in clinical trials but were stopped for reasons other than safety or toxicity. The drug candidates could be developed to potentially become new personalized medicines for schizophrenia/bipolar disorder.
A Proven Discovery Engine
Curidium’s proprietary technology, Homomatrix®, has the potential to uncover underlying disease mechanisms and to separate heterogeneous patient populations into more homogeneous subgroups based on gene expression profiles.
Curidium’s Strategy for Growth
Curidium works with partner companies to apply Curidium’s platform, Homomatrix®, to develop and license diagnostic tests such as PsychINDx™ and other intellectual property (IP) to aid with drug development and discovery.
